Mission Hills Dental
Many types of dental implants are available to cover different oral health scenarios. The type of dental implant required generally depends on how many teeth are missing.
If only one tooth is missing, a single dental implant crown is sufficient. If two or more teeth in a row are missing, then multi-implant bridges can cover the gap. If the entire top or bottom set of teeth is missing, then an all-on-four implant or full-arch implant can replace all those teeth in just one procedure. Finally, if you have a mix of natural teeth and implants and you need dentures, then implant-stabilized overdentures provide a cost-effective alternative to regular dentures.
Single Dental Implant Crown
A single dental implant crown is a great option if you have one missing tooth, in addition it provides:
- A restoration that looks and works like natural teeth
- Restores natural chewing ability
- Preserves bone
- Saves money and costs in the long-term
Multi-implant bridges can work to help fill medium-sized gaps in your teeth. In addition, they can:
- Provide a strong restoration
- Provides permanent restoration
- Preserves bone
- A long-lasting natural tooth replacement solution
All-on-4 Dental Implants offering the following advantages:
- Improves appearance
- Provides fully-functioning new teeth in a short time
- Eat foods without restrictions
- Provides a long-lasting smile restoration
- Makes tooth care easier
Implant Stabilized Overdentures
Implant stabilized overdentures provide a cost-friendly solution as well as an alternative to regular dentures. They have the following advantages:
- Can be snapped into place over 2-4 implants
- Can help reduce the risk of bone loss
- Can improve food chewing and tasting functions
Full, Fixed Arch Implant
A full-fixed arch implant applies the latest dental technology to help you restore your dream smile that is as good if not better than the original natural ones. They provide the following benefits:
- Chip and stain resistant
- Provides a permanent restoration, does not require removal
- Can be custom designed to fix onto 4-6 implants per arch
How It Works
To determine which type of dental implant you need, we will take a look at your overall oral health and assess which teeth are healthy enough to be restored and which teeth may need to be removed. We also take into account your gum and bone health. If your teeth have been missing for a long time, your jawbone will likely have degraded and require a bone graft to be strong enough to support an implant. The whole dental implant procedure may take up to several months, but it is usually possible to work on multiple teeth simultaneously.
